iWaqf began with a simple observation. In 2020, Haroon Rashid and Rizwan Rashid (not related), directors of I Will Solicitors, the UK's leading Islamic Will specialists, recognized a persistent gap in legacy giving. Through preparing thousands of Islamic Wills, they heard the same question repeatedly: "How can I establish a Waqf?" The desire was there, but the pathway remained frustratingly complex and inaccessible.
Rather than simply acknowledge the problem, they built the solution. They established iWaqf Ltd to help individuals create their own private Waqf, and launched iWaqf Charitable Trust with their own donations to establish a charitable legacy. What started as a private initiative has grown into a UK registered charity with global ambitions, transforming a centuries-old tradition into a tool for modern changemakers.
